Component Video Cable (also known as Y,Cr,Cb and RGB) bypasses the TV's Y/C separator and Color Decoder, routing each of the three colors directly into the TV's matrix decoder. Sending this pure video signal to the display device allows the image quality to be vastly greater than standard analog sources (composite video, S-VHS) by bypassing extra processing.
